Why does Martin King of TV3 fame always get referred to as the camp weather presenter ? Is this an undue criticism - I mean come on the its not as if the guy comes on with limp wrists and pink shirts ?

i've never heard him called a camp weatherman, I've heard plenty of other names, but camp aint one of them

camp doesnt always mean acting femininley (sp?), but just being loud, flamboyant and so on...

Martin King isn't camp at all. He's just energetic - charismatic. Not camp though, goodness no, that's one of the worst words to use to describe him.

(I like Martin King - he think he gets unfair condemnation. It's only the weather after all.)

Well thats the thing, I only want the weather, and not some muppet dancing around the place, telling me its so-and-so's birthday in the back end of no-where, and dumbing things down to the point of saying "brrrr" for cold weather, "pissshhhhh" for rain, and "sizzle" for hot weather. At least in America they get hot chicks to do that

I guess thats TV3's approach to things though... sure its only the news... and sure its only home-grown entertainment, why bother? (no offence to you noelrock, i know weather isnt as important as news etc.)

Is that the Ireland AM guy? Yeah...now he's camp.

The weather is hardly accurate, barely factual and, in my opinion, should be treated with the tongue-in-cheek method that Martin King utilises.

Doesnt he have a radio programme on today fm on saturday mornings?I think its him.Is it the same person as the man on the tv3 weather?The voice sounds the same.

The camp weather guy is the guy on RTE... Dustin used to call him the Winking Weatherman From Wexford.... his name is Gerrard Something I think. Martin King is just a muppet
