DVD Recording formats

I want to back up alot of data from my PC but not sure whether to use DVD+R or DVD-R. My burner is dual and my backup will be 50% data, 50% MP3's. I've done alot of searcing but to little avail. I've read that DVD+RW is better so I will use that for the re-writeable stuff. Which format is better for write-only?

if its only for data it doesn't really matter much, i use dvd+r myself, works for both data and video!
