What kind of visa are you looking for ?

Multiple Entry Tourist Visa? Retirement Visa? Spuse Visa?

If you only go for a few weeks, thailand issues Visa on arrival for 30 days. If you leave the country, and re-enter you get another 30 days.

If you wanna stay for more then 30 days but less then 60 days, you wil need a Tourist visa.

You can get it at the Thai Consulate in Dublin. They only deal via Mail, no personal contact. I think it`s done by a lawyers office. They er located in Harcourt Street in Dublin 2.

Take about 5 days. Call them to send you the application form. When you receive it fill it out, send it together with 25 Euros (not 100 % sure) and your passport to the Consulate.

They will return your passport via Post within 5 working days.

Any questions, just let me know.

    Cheers,
    DSAB

dsab, I was wondering how long you've spent in Thailand? If you get a 60 day visa, is it easy to extend it to 120 days?

To my knowledge Alot of guys take a trip to Cambodia to clock in their Visa but I think to my knowledge the Thai government stoped this practice.
I'll pm you with a site where you might get your answer

Thailand doesn`t issue Tourist visas for 120 days. You will have to apply for a multiple entry tourits visa. Each entry is valid for 60 days. You can get that one extended in BKK for another 10 days, but then you will have to leave the country, and reeenter.

At most borders you can do that within an hour. There are organised trips from most parts of thailand, and this practice is still ok to do so. But I would recommend a trip to Angkor anyway for a few days, or to Vietnam.

Airasia is similar to Ryanair, and they fly cheap to Singapore or Malaysia. Maybe an option to consider. But if you wanna saty for 120 days, you will have to leave the country once. Do under NOOOOO curcumstances overstay your visa.

I spent about 2 years in thailand, and I am still living there. :-)

PM me, if you need any websites, links or recommendations.

I was reading about a multiple entry tourist visa, but I thought it was only used for getting back into the country within your visa time limit. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
