Levitation

Ok, so at this stage I'm pretty much ready to believe in anything (You mean if i give all my money and possessions I'm guaranteed to go to heaven ? :D ). Now, in a few of my less exciting dreams lately I've found myself being able to levitate, not quite fly just float a bit, if I try swooping around too much I realise I can't possiby be doing this and come crashing down (maybe I'm just reading too many Douglas Adams books ;) ).

Personally I believe that we all have abilities that we're not fully aware of but that we can learn how to use them. Exactly the same way that babies can't coordinate their hand movements well enough to hold, throw or catch things but over time they learn and it becomes totally natural to the point where you don't even think about it. I think that our subconscious is aware of these abilities and can help guide us through dreams if we can open our minds to listen to it. I've also heard rumours of stories of Buddhist monks hidden away in Tibet who can do this (the levitation part).

Does anyone know anything about this kind of thing or have any reliable source of info ? Or am I just trying to trying to believe in something ridiculous because I want to able to do it ? Let's face it, out of all the potential hidden abilities we have, this has to be one of the coolest

p.s. I just realised that subconscious is never used as a plural that I've heard, it's always our subconscious not subconsciouses, I wonder if there's something in that ?

I have done once or twice but these dreams were different. It's like there are dreams that are just plain dreams where pretty much anything happens, then there are some that seem and feel completely real and then there are these ones that seem even realler. I know that doesn't make sense, it can't seem realler than real, but that's the best way of describing it. I've had them my whole life, I can remember being a kid and wondering why I couldn't levtitate anymore, I have memories of being able to lie down and lift myself off the ground a few inches and scoot around. I'm assuming anyway that it was just dreams that I'm remembering as reality and that I wasn't actually able to do it.

There are various references to it being possible, generally in relation to Buddhists who can manage it through meditation. There's also a fairly well known magic trick where a person sits in a chair and imagines themselves to be heavy and immovable, they then ask 2 people to lift them using only 2 fingers on each hand and they can't. The person in the chair then imagines themself to be really light and almost floating and then the 2 others can lift them with just the 2 fingers. Apparently even the magicians who do this trick have no idea how it works.

Well it sounds to me like you are having an out of body experience and you are too afraid to wonder off still. Once you have overcome your fear of leaving then you can fly off to whereever ya want. You will always make it back in time for the alarm ;)

We used to do this in school but not the way you described it. It's a pretty cool trick. We did it once on the schoolbus and the lad we were doing it to hit the roof! I've no idea how it works though, I've heard a few suggestions but they sound pretty lame.

If its an out of body experience the go to http://www.mysticweb.org/ and sign up for the course that tells you how to control it and how anyone can with practice do this. If its too late to sign up, no problem.. i can upload the ones i got so far.

I've just signed up for it, thanks for the link.

I'm not sure these particular dreams are related to astral travelling. I've had other dreams where I've become lucid and could do anything and go anywhere. I flew for a few minutes till I realised I didn't even need to do that and could just make myself be anywhere I wanted. These levitating dreams feel very different to that. It's hard to tell what goes on in your own dreams though, hopefully this course will help help me them better.

A former boss could levitate objects using telekinesis.

    Or so he claimed.

He came over to my desk one evening on his way home and said "do you know what telekinesis is? I've just used it to lift a sheet of paper on my desk. I just concentrated on it and eventually it began to hover an inch above the desk."

I began to laugh because I thought he was joking but I saw from the expression on his face he was serious. I felt a bit like some Roman patrician might have felt as Caligula was telling him that he was going to make his horse a senator; "ha ha that's a good one Caligula, oh feck he's serious"

Another day I overheard the same boss near my desk telling some other employees that he had experienced "yogic astral projection". I had to run into the bathroom so he wouldn't see me breaking my snot laughing. It would want to have been fecking strong astral projection to shift his fat arse :D

The company subsequently went down the toilet. I wonder why...

I've been reading up on astral projection at the mystic web link above an that seems like what was going, I suppose I'll just have to make do with flying in the astral plane for now and stick to the car in the physical :D
