I rushed ahead and bought Free to Air receiver Strong 4155 FTA from satellite.ie (see bottom) with twin lnb + 80cm dish. Just wondering if it was a good choice and good quality?

I hope your not expecting to receive RTE or any of the Sky sports channels because the Box you've purchased dosen't appear to have a slot for a card.

But hang around here for a while and the owner of satellite.ie will be around.:)

But looks a good system from the description.

Not really sure how to answer your question, the strong 4155 will give you lots of free to air channels. Take a look at www.lyngsat.com for listings, most people go for astra 1 ,2 and hotbird although there are many satellites visible from Ireland. Since I'm biased perhaps others could tell you what they think of the strong v other receivers.

    Good luck

Impossible to answer as i do not know who you are
    :D

In any case I doubt the moderators would be pleased (quite rightly) with a discussion of a commercial issue here. Please email me .

    We were all newbies once.

I bought my first dish from SKY. Got bored with the channels there pretty quick.

Second dish was a hotbird/astra1 combination.
    2 sats on one dish.

added in a box with a slot for a cam

    bought a cam

did a bit of reading the sat mags and websites

amazing what choice you end up with.

Lots of football and ladies with no clothes on.

The box you are going for is restrictive. Get a common interface box.
    its called CI
Thats the slot for the cam.

You can also add a viewing card in to the cam into the ci slot if you follow.

    Tony explained everything to me.
