USB Controller

    Hey,

    Just installed WinXP Pro on the laptop. All is working fine except no USB Controller drivers are installed!!!

    I can't use my normal mouse, this touchpad is driving me insane. Can't seem to find drivers for it on the net. Anyone any help here?

    Make sure you have service pack 1 installed or you wont get usb devices working. You may also need to install the usb driver for your laptop again.

    yeah i got a external HDD and it says a HI speed USB device is plugged into a non HI speed USB port i have usb 2.0 i think it needs the controller i run xp pro and have SP1 and all hot fixes

    any ideas?

    usually i find that the usb 1 drivers are installed automatically by XP, but if you look in device manager and expand the usb controllers there is one with the amber warning for no drivers installed. If you reinstall the drivers, point it towards the live update website and you should find it sticks on the USB2 controller driver.

    Not sure why why XP does this, but it should solve your problem!!
