I recently bought a Digital camera (Pentax Optio S) and it kinda made me wanna mess about with an SLR.

I got my hands on an Olympus OM-2.

Does anybody have any experience/views/advice regarding this camera?

It was bought in 1978 and I dont think its been serviced at all, just gathering dust. Should I get it looked at? How much would that cost??

    Cheers,
    G.

The OM-2 is a great camera. Spot metering and some cutting edge SLR bit and bobs made it the Pro camera of choice throughout the 80's. I have used a complete OM kit (om-1 and Om40) for over 15 years and I always liked the results.

I would recommend that you get it serviced and checked out. The best placed to do that is Photograpic Repair Services (PRS) Portobello Harbour, Dublin 8. Tel:4781638. They did my complete kit a number of time and did a great job.

    Enjoy your camera.
