I have very bad FM reception on my US iHP120. Most on the iriver forums comment on how good the reception is. Some say the eu firmware gives more accurate tuning. Anybody improve theirs with the eu firmware? Anybody else have poor reception with theirs?

    Hiya

I have the same player and have had no probs with the FM stations..

The auto tune is rubbish i had to manually find and lock in the stations myself, took maybe 5 mins in total...

Im in Dublin and even my old crappy ear-plugs i could still pick up all the main stations around here and some of the stronger Pirate ones...

PS try a diff set of ear-plugs/phones aswell, its strange but they can improve the FM signal sometimes :))

I don't have any problems with the FM tuner.
There is an option to change location to Europe, but i don't think it makes much difference.
    Might be worth trying though.

Nothing strange in that almost all portable FM radios are using the headphones lead as antenna...

Thinking of getting me one of those. Can anyone tell me can you hook them up to back of car stereo and can you charge them from cigarette lighter?

I know you can get those tape attachment things that you pop in the tape slot of your car stereo.
If you have an input on the stereo you can use that as well.
The iriver has line out and optical out, as well as the head phone socket.

I think there's a cigarette charger on the iriver site, in accessories i think.
