Altec Lansing ADA885 problem

I have had these ADA885 4.1 THX speakers for about three years now. The trouble is it has just died a death this evening it seems.

The subwoofer is normally powered and all of the sound info goes into it and is processed out to the speakers. Now the system is powerless and the LED doesnt light on the front or on the speakers. The fuse in the plug and in the unit itself seems fine. It is out of warranty. The trouble is the speakers cost about 350 quid. I paid 100 extra when I bought my dell pc.

How can I fix this problem? Is it a case of new speakers? I love these ones. Can I pay to have it fixed? Ideas?

There may be a fuse in the subwoofer? Or the transformer (external or internal to the sub) may be faulty?

yeah i checked and replaced all of the fuses. Still no luck. The plug is a normal one, so the transformer is internal. I dont even know where to start with that. I opened it up and everything looked fine. No scorches or anything like that. Thats about all I am able to do.
