    it's good.
My friend used them and they were very helpful.
    think they host this site.

I doubt they'll allow you to host omnicorp there. They'd be complaints from users being blinded by your colour scheme. :D

I use them for a couple of sites.

I have only contacted support for help once and found them very helpful.

Not to bad i heard. I have my own server so i host myself normally.<snip>

    Cheers

    - Thats great, but boards.ie doesn't offer free advertising. If you want to advertise, contact one of the admins. Regards, Gerry.

Also if you guys need so hosting <SNIP> very good prices for pretty much anything. A basic package equal to hosting365.ie will cost you 60 euro for a year instead of 9.95 a month adding up to 120 euro. Just something to think about.

So will you be donating to boards for your use of their resources for your own commercial advertising? 60 euro is still expensive BTW.

hosting365 are quite reliable, the company I work for have dedicated servers with them.

If price is an issue for you I'd go with a US hosting company (check out http://www.webhostingtalk.com/)

Ehm, did anyone spot what's written at the very end of this page? Last line? You know:
© boards.ie Ltd. (Ireland) - Hosted by (guess who...)

Just a thought... I know it doesn't say anything about prices, but uptime?

The server that this site sits on is in a hosting365 rack, but it's a boards.ie limited server, which is under pressure from all you freeloaders.

I'm a happy customer of hosting365, and have not had probs.

    Everyone forget Hosting365.ie,

This company is cheap very reliable & offers way more than hosting365.

    Thanks JoePC

I thought it was finished? "Visit OmniCorp, The Best of the Rest!"

    Only teasing...

Personally I find hosting365 ok. No better, no worse.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, just wanted to add that clicking the hosting365.ie link at the bottom of each boards page and signing up gets 10% commission for boards.ie Ltd. to help support the community :)

Will the daily blurb still be bi-weekly?

Fine Snip away all you like guys. i was just offering a hand to anyone who wanted it.

Trust me it wont happen again. The Main topic of this thread was a guy asking if a hosting company was any good i checked out there prices and services and decided that i could do better.

Any precieved advertising that you guys thought i was doing was not intentional. I did what I did in an effort to help a guy out.

But I won't be offering help again you can trust me on that.

    Cheers

Offering a hand or help is one thing. Charging for it is another. Once you are charging for a service and telling people via the boards. Then that IS advertising dude. Theres no grey area, and perception doesn't come into it.

As for the snipping, you'll get that a lot if you try to swim upstream and interpret the forums rules to suit yourself. I'm not yanking your chain, but you have to play by the rules of the person who owns the football. C'est la vie.

Not a bad site BTW. Way, but it needs more colour and sparkles! Wizards stuff etc.

    Well, hosting365.ie offer 250mb for 99€/year
    LunarPages.com offer 800mb for $7.95/month

    I need maybe 300-500mb

Well, I am thinking of doing some reselling but hosting365 deals are €1200/year.

We have a reseller plan at € 495 per annum, or you can host multiple domains/websites on any of our standard plans.

Then why does it say on your website €999.95/annum exc. VAT @ 21%?

Good, when? and can you PM me a quote please?
otherwise oneworldhosting.com offer a good reselling plan but i prefer to stick to euro and if possible, Ireland

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭steve-hosting36

Well, at 49.95 euro per month, our lowest cost reseller plan wipes the floor with oneworldhosting's most expensive 50 dollar plan. Plus they dont have any mention of MySQL, PostgreSQL and MS SQL all of which are included with no per DB fees in our reseller solution, not to mention you get branded nameservers, support, billing and control panel systems as standard with us too.

I would recommend a 'deep' look at the hosts you are reviewing, check for hidden or extra costs, some reseller plans will charge you a monthly increment to activate something like frontpage for example! What may appear cheap at first glance often ends up being much more expensive when you actually require features and functionality.

Also, what value on local freephone support and fast irish servers?

    HTH, Stephen

I was referring to all the hassle of people advertising hosting services in the past, which is why that board was closed down. I have no idea what you are talking about, but its probably a result of staring at all that red all the time. There ARE other colours.

    Huh, what?
Anyway, I have decided that hosting365 are probably the best as they are Euro but can anyone recomend any other hosts that operate in Euro?

You've been cross-posting across multiple boards asking about hosting plans and you have been pointed in the direction of numerous other threads here which give links to many providers.

If you are looking for Irish based hosts then the list is at:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=57012

It states quite clearly who is Irish based (ie. has servers in Ireland) and who hasn't.

You should probably look carefully at the plans offered by the various hosts on the list I posted above and then contact the ones that you are interested in directly.
Getting into a debate on boards.ie about who offers the best pricing etc., will more likely lead to a swarm of providers and resellers touting their wares and will give you little or no help in making an educated choice.

actually, new things have come up and I need new info.
Most importantly... do the domains come as part of the hosting package or are they seperate?

Probably time to close this thread and let people haggle over prices elsewhere.

but here's good... plus I'm not convinced over hosting365.ie yet.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭steve-hosting36

Domain names have annual fees associated with them which are always seperate to any hosting charges you might be paying to a provider. For domains like .ie, there are also other requirements to consider - you can see more information here: http://www.register365.ie/support_irish_domains.php

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,249 ✭✭✭omnicorp

yeah, but do I HAVE to be a bussiness?
If so, how is it to register?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭steve-hosting36

Hi Omni, everything is covered in the link above. You need to be a business, a sole trader, a publication, etc - see the link for the full list of criteria and the requirements for each type.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,249 ✭✭✭omnicorp

    thank you.
Does registering as a business cost much or take long?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭steve-hosting36

You can secure a Registered Business Name (RBN) from www.cro.ie (the companies office) for about €30
