Howdee. 'Alphabot' are looking for a new bassist for late SEPT/early OCT, as the last one has to study in Jazz school full time. We like alot of different genres of music, have an album being finished, have our own studio, are gigging regularly, and are based near the Dun Laoghaire/Dalkey area in South east Dublin. We need a bassist familiar with groove bass lines who likes a bit of Funk, Rock, and Electronic music. Here's some influences we're into.

Talking Heads (first 5 albums),Sly and the family Stone, Bowie (mid to late 70's and early 80's stuff), Television, Roxy Music (first 5 albums), Gary Numan (especially 'The Pleasure principle') Neu!, Beck, Iggy Pop, Blondie, Joy Division (especially Transmission), My Bloody Valentine, Stevie Wonder (early to mid 70's ONLY), Beastie Boys,The Strokes, AIR, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth.

NO METAL! NO U.S. POP PUNK!

you get the jist....In the band There's a singer/guitarist, singer/keyboards+synth player, a drummer who sings, and maybe you (if you can sing it'd be cool, but not essential. We wanna try out some people for late september. If interested call me(Fran), email or text me. Thanks.

...forgot to mention. We're NOT a covers band. All our songs are originals, way may do one or two in the future, but they'd have to sound like our own adaptations of the song, no jukebox y'know. We've done gigs in the Sugar Club and Whelans recently too, plenty more of that in stall. Ta

...oh well, can't do much about that. I have to say this site used to be alot better for finding musicians. WAY better.
