Elusive Recordings present a night of live electronica with

Halfset / Jimmy Behan / Formica
    Saturday 11th September, Crawdaddy
    Old Harcourt Street.
    Doors 8pm
    Adm €7

Halfset are an electronic three piece featuring Stephen Shannon
(producer/engineer), Biggley (formerly of Dot Creek) & Jeff Martin
    (singer/songwriter) who formed in 2002.

Originally conceived as a studio project to record one song, the dynamic worked
so well that the band decided to rise to the challenge of taking their
complicated (and heavy!) set-up to a live audience. They employ an unusual
combination of beats, programming and live instruments - including vocals,
guitars, glockenspiel, banjo, mandola and old analog synths. While the sound is
pitched somewhere between cinematic and eclectic soundscapes, the emphasis is
on melody and the result is an accessible journey through contemporary
    electronica.

Halfset have recorded dozens of songs and have appeared on several compilations.
They will release their debut album on Elusive Recordings.

Jimmy Behan has already carved a niche for himself as an electronic musician of some note with his deceptively complex layers of acoustic instruments combined with analog melodies, and has been described by The Ticket as "one of the most talented and under-rated artists out there today" .........Under-rated? not in our minds, we rate him highly.
Jimmy will be previewing tracks from his forthcoming LP "Days are what we live in" on Elusive Recordings Nov 2004

Formica has earned a reputation as one of the most imaginative electronic artists in Ireland today for both his own compositions, which are a unique variety of spiky, quirky, cut-and-paste electronica, and as a highly inventive remixer (Redneck Manifesto and Messiah J to name but two).
On the night he will be accompanied by Bryan O'Connell of Weapons of Mass Destruction on a full drum kit.
