im 21 years old and i work with a guy who is 3 years younger than me. we get on really well and he's very mature and i love spending time with him.
recently we went out with a few others from work and had a good night. we ended up back in his house for a few more drinks and he kissed me. i really like this bloke but am worried that the he might be a bit young. i know three years isn't a lot but its seems worse at 18 and 21 than it does at 21 and 24 (if ya know what i mean??) also the fact that hes doing his leaving cert this year while im going into second year in college is making me a little uneasy.
should i knock it on the head now or am i over-reacting?

We can't answer this for you. Only you can decide if you're prepared to give it a go. If you want moral encouragement that it's "ok" to go out with someone younger, sure I can offer that: it's okay to go out with someone younger than you. Unfortunately I'm not speaking for all your family and friends who will more than likely tease you about it, but if you're lucky, that's all it will be: a teasing. If you reckon you can put up with that, sure, go for it.

older girl? your 21 FFS not 41, if you fancy him and you feel he fancies you then go for it, age is hardly an issue (he's not 16) either, and never mind the bullsh1t formula that they tend to use here (about half your age multipled by his star sign or something) if the chemistry is there it will work (in the short term at least :) )

From what I can see about 75% of a girl's relationships chances of succeeding is based on whether her friends want them to or not. So you just have to work out the 25% concerning whether you want to go out with him or not ...

Go out with him, have some fun... the age difference is only an issue if you allow it to become one.

I'm 24 and i'm going out with an 18yr old, 7 weeks now, best relationship i've had to date. Forget age, its a just a number, its what inside that counts.

I dated an 18 year when I was 23/24 and I think the age gap had both its disadvantages and advantages, most of them being down to who he was and not just because he was 18. Now that was a 5.5 year gap and it was a meaningful one on both sides. Age wasn't all that important because we didn't make it important.
Ask yourself: Why should it matter? Does it change who he is? It's only a problem if you make it one (which happened another time to me.... but the gap was bigger then so more understandable). But 18 and 21? C'mon. Seriously. Go for it.

Just go for it, and don't be worrying about it. As everyone else has said, the age difference isn't that big.
And just think, if you are still together in a year you'll be able to celebrate by going to his Debs! ;)
