i am looking to convert my wma files to ogg files.
    i am using dbpoweramp.
when i right click on a song and select convert to and choose ogg vorbis it gives me the following error

is encrypted which dMC is not able to decode.

am i going about this the wrong way?
is there a better way to convert?
    any help would be great

I encountered the same problem when converting wma files to mp3.
I don't think there is a way around using db-power amp, the software is strict on security- I couild be wrong though.

Download Goldwave, its a shareware sound editor -

Go to File-Batch Processing and select whatever you need. Very easy to use.

I just did 12 songs from ogg to mp3 using audio alchemy downloaded from http://www.tucows.tr.net/audiocon95_rating.html

Drag and drop and done.It is a demo though but there are others.

the thing is you probably stuck on the encryption when you encoded the files to wma, so now its going to be next to impossible to convert em to anything else.

The best thing to do is play the files back, and use your line-in/mic slot to record it back to wav.

you are right it is a protection issue.i turned it off and was able to convert a new cd from wma to ogg.however all the files i previously uploaded are useless really.

on a different note however - it takes nearly 6-8 minutes to convert with program i am using-is this a little long or is it about normal?

Don't convert from WMA to OGG as you will be losing a lot of quality - rip the OGGs from the original CDs, the quality will be better. Converting one lossy to another lossy format is always bad.
