Film woes

    Im looking to get some high speed 1600 asa film, and infra-red film. Does anyone know where i can pick these up, either locally(Dublin) or on the net?

    but you would want to do some reading on the film you are going to buy. The professionals will do crazy things with film at high speeds, i.e. rate an 800 at 1000 and then develope it like it was 1600. There is a different manner in getting the best performance from every different film type and it all gets confusing as the names change and then you suddenly realise you are reading a usenet post from 1996!

    For Fuji NPZ 800 (from photo.net):
    If I have to shoot high ISOs, I like NPZ at 1000, push1, or 1600, push2.

    Of course you need to find a lab that will understand what you want done and not screw it up!

    i used to use fast films a lot
    fuji 1600 print film is not great quality but easily got in somewhere like beringham cameras just off o'connell bridge
    or ilford 3200 black and white is a really good fast film

    a lot of pros use fuji provia 400 slide film set at 1600 and push process it

    don't have any experience with infra red
