A friend of mine just phoned me and said there's an extra €15 on his phone bill from internet charges. He said theres loads of instances of "nv loading" on the bill. Each one costing 10c or 20c. Has anyone any idea what these are and why they're only being charged now?

I'm callin out to him this afternoon so any info before then would be much appreciated. Thanks

Just a guess... but is he on broadband and did he go over his cap? They started charging for that a month or two ago.

No, Stephen. Nothing like that. It's a dialer virus which connects his modem to a premium rate line (1580, I think). Think I've gotten rid of it now.

He got away lightly if it only bled him for 15 euros!

Is that the most likely source? I think I linked it to "Flash Games" or something. The bill was more like an extra €28 or so. Didn't get all the details when he contacted me first.

Could have come from anywhere but the more dodgy p0rn sites are notorious for them. It could have been a flash games site as well.
