Yeah, I heard about that on the radio today. What a bummer. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot - or even in the other guys foot! :)

As I've posted in the other thread though, he set a good example in the manner in which he handled it.

Well there was not much he could do but accept it! He had to deal with as best he could and get up and carry on with things. Roll on Beijing.

ya but on the inside I bet the guy is beeting himself up .
For most people in the Olympic games the sport they compete in is their life and is what they are more passionate about that anything else , and to hit the wrong target thinking you had won gold by hitting the correct target is a horrible way not to win a medal , in some ways you would prefer to miss the target alltogehther . (of course in a lot of other ways you would prefer to lose like that knowing how good you are other than just regular defeat)

Of course he is BigEars, but the point is that he doesn't go off on a McEnroe approach to the problem.

I counted 11 hurdles falling in the first heat of what I beleive was 110 metre hurdles , and there were many more in the other heats too .

Yeah, it appeared like some of them thought the idea was to kick them out of the way, not jump them! :)
