Is it possiable to set up a sata raid 0 with a 200gb and a 160 gb harddrives ..........iI was told that the 200 will drop to 160gb,, this i dont mind ive got a msi 875p neo mobo that has raid on it .....and i tried over the weekend to set it up but what keep happening... was that i would set up the raid in the bois and it was fine... it would show up as ONE DRIVE 300 or so gb

...Which was fine then when i was installing the software .i.e windows xp pro .........it would ask as it does to load the drivers for the raid at the begining of the set up ,This i did by inserting the floppy disc with the raid drivers on it ...it would take them then carry on with the setup but as it was loading windows files onto the hard disc ...it would say it couldnt find a certain file .... which happens to be the drivers for the raid the four files it keeps asking for are the ones on the floppy ...but the floppy is in the drive and it wont go to the floppy drive to get them It give the opion to skip the file or to retry ...i tried skiping them but hte system crashs a few moment later......the floppy drive is working fine cos it took the drivers for the intel IAA RAID of the floppy already ...
any ideas here would be great thanks in advance

I have never known raid 0 to work on anything but two identical hard drives of the same size.

Once you get to window xp load up at the start you should press f6 to load scsi drivers or something. After a few mins you get a pop up for loading the raid drivers. Following the instructions until you have should have 2 options the raid driver and the mass storage driver. If the raid driver alone does not work try loading both of them.

Perhaps your missing a file on the floppy or have two many and its throwing the setup into confussion.
