    Hi,

Myself and a Scottish friend have been playing Blue Bytes's Battle Isle 2 and now Battle Isle 3 for years. Are there any BI3 fans out there? Have you got that game gathering dust on your shelf? Would you like to try a threesome? We've been dualing it out on many 2 player maps but I recently came across an editor that makes really good multiplayer maps. So a good 3 player game would be very interesting!

If you are interested just let me know and I can organize something. We typically email each other a turn every other day. A game typically goes on for several weeks (2-3 turns a week).

I'd love to if only I could find that cd - must have given it to someone. Loved the Battle Isle series. Anyone know if it available as abandonware?

I don't think it's abandonware. BI3 is on cd and was for windows95 but works fine on XP. It's about 56-57 when copied from the CD. A patch allows it be independent of the CD since really it was annoying.

You can download Battle Isle 2 (floppy version) from the Underdogs though but being 2 years older again (1993) it will be tricky to run right. http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=2073

    Good game however.

Still if anyone has BI3 let me know and I may be able to arrange a game with my mate for 3+ game. Two player games can be predictable once you get to know your opponent.

found BI3 but I see you can't do email play on it. Downloading BI2 now - hope I can get it to run on XP though

    Maxmillian,

    To play multiplayer in BI3:

    1. Start the game.
    2. Choose "Start network game". Choose the multiplayer map and the no. of players etc.You can get the passwords for the multiplayer maps on the net (gameFAQs for eg.) This was meant to "protect" the player until they played the campaign game.
    3. Once you are finished your turn, Click turn over (horizontal arrows) when done. Email the save file to the next player. Repeat.

I just tried playing the 1st level of BI2. Yes, works fine. You probably know that it is best played in "Expert" mode so you do more damage to the cpu by "hemming" him in with units before you attack. That game is class!

Now any BI3 people around? I found an editor for BI3 and works fine... so I'll make a map if necessary! ;)

Hi Daigle - Would you be interested in playing the remake?

Advanced Strategic Command 1.16 (ASC 1.16.2 released)

It's exactly like BI2 and BI3 and supports XP perfectly and is nice and small? I can reply to a move generally as quick as every 2nd day. It's a 12Mb download here -> http://www.asc-hq.org/

Can you download it and we can choose a map and play? It supports play-by-mail. Generally we just email the save file anyway. There is a map database that we can pick a 2 player or 3 player file.

If anyone else is interested let us know. Helps if you played either Battle Isle 2 or 3 before.
