Olympics Tickets

George Hamilton mentioned on RTE last week that many of the events were not full because of the cost of tickets. Now I'd love to goto a future Olympics but he said:

3 figure sums for average tickets at the SMALLER events. What the hell? Anyone have any experience of this...ie Cost of Swimming Finals, Basketball games, track and field, etc.

I find it hard to believe despite the inevitable rip-off that must accompany any Olympics city. It's hardly up with the F1 category?

I'm not sure but I thought all the tickets were similarily priced in the range of around 50 euros. However, I know that there is rife touting going on over here. The opening ceremony for example had tickets going for 4 figure sums when in fact they cost around 60 euro.

Actually apparently tickets are around 10 - 15 euros for most events, I checked up on it. (yes, I was a bit overboard with my original estimation huh)

Thanks for the help. I hope your right because I was told yesterday that the Greek Authorities were refusing to drop prices...dunno really.

Anyway I'm not going so no biggie :)
