Age of Mythology

Wahat do you think of Age of Mythology?
I think it's good but not as good as Age of Empires II.
The graphics are much better though!

Cant say I liked it much, they took away a lot of the fun of the origional AoE series, large scale etc, and added virtually unbeatable myth units, only army worth building a human army with is the Norse, the human army for the Egyptians consists of Elephants, and Greeks just ened their 5 hero's and Myth units, really not too much fun at all IMO. The walls in it are just pathetic too, as are archers. They could have done so much with this game, but they just buggered it all up.

Yeah, the single player game was enjoyable though... strikingly new and exciting but still comfortingly familiar.
I love those jolly green giant units, ooh nothing so sweet as sending 20 of them at your opponent
I tried playing it online, but got bored very quickly.
As pugs said, it's missing the scale and walls are too weak.

They should allow units to get up on the walls.
And they should make a WW2 version of AoE

Nah far too many WW2 RTS games out, I want a new AoE game, oen with sparkly new 3D graphics, a bit more variation between the nations in it, and the same style of gameplay. As far as multi player RTS go AoE hasnt been touched IMO, so a new updated one would go down very nicely.

AOM was a major letdown...it shoulda been somethin special....but it was pants..

i'll never forget the first time i saw one of my castle getting attacked...some guy with a shovel had it levelled in about 6 seconds... :eek: ...Christ what a crap game...we need another AOK...

I thought the graphics were good, but not much else realy.
Even the campaign was a let-down.
The pop-cap thing, crap.

Its more of the same tbh.
The big thing with the new race the atlanteans is the donkey by their side.
So they can deposit the resources there.
You can make each atlantean a hero.
You can only make like 15 Atlanteans.

Suppose the x-pansion is worth maybe €15 or so.

Atlantean's are a pretty good team, pity their myth units are either utterly pants are uber, so theres only really about 4 or 5 diffrent sub gods with looking at. Their villagers are also quite a nice feature, its nice only needing about 4 or 5 vills to get your economy going full flow (albiet they take 3 pop each....). As for the titans themselve's, bloody stupid idea, first person to get titans wins, only the greeks or atlanteans can stop them, and thats by getting millions of hero's pumping out aand just throwing them at them, they can crush a full 100 pop army if there no hero's in it.
