Receiving both 19.2E and 28.2E with dual LNB setup

I have an 85cm dish set up with a Dreambox. I have two LNB's on the dish with a switch. I mounted the LNB for 19.2E in the middle of the dual LNB holder, and aligned the dish.

I can receive that satellite fine.

However, no matter where I move the second LNB, I am not able to pick up any sign of 28.2E, which is supposed to be a strong satellite.

What could I be doing wrong?

I'm not that technical but I would think that the satellite dish must be directed in the direction needed , not the lnb. Would imagine you would need a motorised facility whereby your dish moves as you switch decoder.

I'm sure the experts will give a more detailed reply than this though.

It is possible to get a signal from both satellites with the dish in the correct place using the dual lnb but i dunno how to help you

They use 3 LNBs with the same dish...

    Hope this helps

I would be interested in this also. it's much handier than a motorised system. 3 LNBs on a 80cm dish for 3 different sats seems class. How did you get on with it?

Are you sure your second lnb is working ok? swap it with the working one to see if you still receive. :)

Are you sure your switch is OK?

Remember that the dish acts pretty much like a mirror. So if your dish is aimed at 19.2E, then the LNB for 28E will need to 9 degrees *west* of the 19.2E LNB i.e. as you look out from behind the dish, the 19.2E LNB will be in the middle and the 28E LNB will be to the right of it.

yes, though the bracket is a proper one and the 28.2E / Sky LNB is a dual to feed PC card and Digibox. The other two LNBs feed PC too. With a 1.2m Dish you can feed 5, the main advantage is to feed MULTIPLE recievers, I had a duplicate setup with 19, 13 and 7 all on analog using 80cm dish. Originally I had a home made 3 way LNB switch operated by Digibox SCART connector and the 3 LNBs on Digibox. I got feed up with Digibox issues and bought the PC card, like a Skystar1 or Hauppauge Nexus-s (Nova-s / Skystar2 has no built in TV out or MPEG decoder).

A multiple LNB gives instant switching, a motor is slower. I have a Motek diseq GotoX motor too which gets from 42E to 50W ish on a 85cm dish about 29 satellites with FTA TV, Radio and feeds. See www.satellite.ie for similar parts and www.satcure.co.uk for specialist odds and ends.

I have a spare 4th switch i/p on PC now, it was Hispasat then Thor/Intelsat. I may put up a dish for it again.

Would it help if I uploaded a photo of my dish and LNB's on it?
