Does anyone know the itinerary for this gig next tuesday. The last I looked there were 5 or 6 bands lined up in total so I presume like last time The White Stripes are only going to play for about an hour.

Frankly, I only bought my ticket to see them though might check out the New York Dolls as well. So does anyone have any stage times? Gates are 2.30pm I think, so first band will be on when, 3.30pm, 4pm???

Whats the seating arrangement in Marlay Park - I know that it's GA, but are there any seats at all? Are people bringing blankets/inflatable chairs et all?

  • i presume it will be set up exactly as the Frames gig was. If so inflatable chairs are all the rage for the start of the day but everyone leaves them behind when the headliners come on. The inflateable couches for two people are €35 in the event. so bring your own, but expect not to bring it home. if your going early its well worth it to bring anything to sit on at all.

pretty pissed off about jet being replaced by mundy (sux).
anyone know the reason for this?

also, i'm guessing all food and drink must be purchased on site, or how strict are they in regards to this?

anyone know the reason for this?

Cause the father of the two brothers in the band died and they decided to return home to Australia.

No - the Ticketmaster e-mail warns that it's an outdoors event, and to dress appropriately - and that umbrellas are not allowed.

Blanche << Missed Them, Where they good?

Peaches << Was a complete and utter joke, Good to laugh at!! :D

Mundy << Was quite good, liked his new guitar!

New York Dolls << Lead Singer = Mick Jagger HA HA :p

The White Stripes << Very good, But I thought they would have been on for longer. What did ya think of the cover they did of Isis by Bob Dylan. I thought it was good.

I thought the concert was great (Well I had Complimentary Tickets ;) )What did the rest of ya think of the Gig?

Caught half of the New York Dolls. Yeah, the singer did remind me of Mick Jagger alright. They weren't half bad though I thought.

The Stripes were great, really enjoyed it. In honesty I thought they sounded a bit rough at times and I'm pretty sure Jack White made a few mistakes with the lyrics, going into the chorus at the wrong time etc and even forgetting some lyrics perhaps though who cares it was still great to see them live again and I love their music.

How many songs did they play? Anyone have a setlist? They played for an hour and a quarter by my watch but it seemed longer due to the number of songs, a good few covers thrown in too. Thankfully the rain held off as well!

Feckin great performance by the Stripes. Didnt play for very long but still great. Blanche were really good when they got going. I didnt get Peaches. Mundy was his usual ****e self. New York Dolls were cool although some of thir songs sounded samey. White Stripes didnt play Jolene, Jack The Ripper, Astro and loads more, the bastards!!

Thought The Dylan cover "Isis" was great, was surprised when I heard Jack talkin he sounded kinda slow or somethin, I dunno just not what I expected. The guy Is an incredible musician though, Meg can't drum or sing for ****e but somehow it all works. Pity Jet weren't there I would have turned up earlier if they were.

I only showed up for the New York Dolls and the White Stripes. I would have liked to have seen Peaches but I brought my ten year old cousin with me and last time I checked she had a tendency to do/say rude things. NY Dolls were good, the lead singer was definitely damaged goods. Jet Boy rocked. The White Stripes themselves were really good but not as good as they were the last time as the atmosphere was non-existant at Marley. I thought their set list was nice and balanced. I would have liked to have heard Meg sing Rated X again though.

I think over-all the gig was great, but It would have been much better indoors, as with most gig's... IMO.

BTW, Anyone going to Dido today? :P

Mundy had just finished up as I got there, so I only seen NY Dolls and the Stripes, althought hey were the only ones I wanted to see really (and Jet but that wasn't gonna happen).

I really enjoyed the NY Dolls, the singer was very much like Mick Jagger and he really liked to keep saying "Sylvain Sylvain" and seemed to laugh a lot after he took his "elixir". But I really enjoyed their set.

The White Stripes were great. I've been waiting to see 'Ball and Biscuit' live and I finally did, and 'Death Letter', 'Apple Blossom', and 'We are going to be friends' were ones I was delighted that they played. All in all, I was very impressed and am still buzzing from the concert. I'd love to see them in a small indoor venue, like Vicar Street, but I think that will just be in my dreams...

Lead singer DEFINITELY looks like Mick Jagger, I couldn't help thinking that for the whole thing!

Mundy was alright - the last song was the only one that I really liked though.

Blanche were decent. They shouldn't have came on first IMHO.

Peaches ...that's a joke act, right? She looks atrocious - I appreciate the 'plastic fantastic Barbie' look any day compared to that saggy mess that looked like it got dressed in the 80's and hadn't washed since.

New York Dolls - Oh my, WAS that Mick Jagger? He seemed to be obsessed with that guys name alright yeah. Good band though.

White Stripes - Wow. The concensus seems to be 'they're great for a duo'. Forget the 'for a duo' part, they're great in general. Numbers don't mean much in music. :P S Club 7 anyone?

Blanche were excellent. They got the crowd going so early on. They had a great dynamic about them, the bassist babe was another Meg and the unhinged steel guitarist the Jarvis Cocker strings man and the gread lead. They really were different yet stayed true to a folky county style, yet they rocked....Great Stuff

    White Strips.....Outstanding!!
