I spent 4 years in DCU and have absolutely no knowledge of an archery club, although I wouldn't rule it out. If there is one then yes, it will cater for beginners ;)

Of course there is a club in DCU, and they cater for beginner, halenger on the boards is their captain. Try halenger@redbrick.dcu.ie or send him a private message.

Warning: DCU archery team are crap, and will get their collective asses handed to them by everyone, yes, even Maynooth. Except Maire.

    Regards

Actually Halenger's taking this year off, Shock is the new head thingy. And you never know, might get lucky and pull in some awesome new talent or somthing so there's no guarantees as to how each club will perform this year as yet.

True, will be interesting to see where the current crop of school archers end up - Me, Bolger, Sinead, Maire, Keith, and Gary are all former schools archers.....

Meh. I've retired from everything to do with running it. I set it up but obviously still not enough publicity out there.

Maybe this year's bunch will manage to pull it off with some decent support from the SCC (g'luck there).

I've said it time and time again but hell yeah we cater for all levels, as much as we can. You don't need your own equipment though if you get into the sport muchly you'd need your own. There's a respectable amount of equipment in the club at this stage. It's been building slowly over the last 3 years. There's enough for throughout the year. Obviously way too many will turn up for first few sessions after Clubs n Socs Day(s) but it'll settle and more and more people have their own gear now anyhow.

Better off waiting until after Clubs n Socs day cause it's quite dead this summer, unless things have changed in my absense. As far as I know there's noone training at all.

it took me 4 long years to get to where i am now and im still not that good! and i train about 3 times as much as they do!!

thanks for the confirmation, not really concerned with the actual status of the DCU team, just interested in taking up another sport, if I do get stuck into it I'll have no problem with buying my own supplies, keep an eye out for me in here, maybe I should change my nick to "The Emerald Archer" in anticipation of greatness >;)
