Retrieving Drivers From Old Hard Drive

    Ok, just set up a new hd with XP on my m8's pc, but he has not drivers for his modem, and i cant seem to make out what make it is.

    i still have his old hd, is it possible to find a retrieve the drivers off this, it was runing win98. cheers

    You could pop the new drive out, stick the old one back in and power up. Have a look in Device Manager (Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager) and have a look at what modem is used. You will then need an XP driver for your new system.

    its an isdn adaptor, winbond m669cf

    went to the winbond site, but they dont seem to have this model listed :(

    but they still dont have it listed, googling it now.

    and every result send me back to the same site which requires registration and u have to download some driver pack up sftware. dont like that.
