alternate to eirocm[phone line]?

    hey guys

    are there any alternatives[cheaper/better] to eircom?

    that would allow me to install digiweb

    There is no alternative - eircom are the only supplier of fixed line services in the state.

    You can however, pay someone else for the line rental. Its still an eircom line and the money still goes to eircom, you just dont have to deal with eircom any more. Smart Telecom are offering such a service.

    Esat BT will also offer single billing from the the 24th Sept billing run.

    It certainly won't improve your chances of being able to get DSL. The original poster seemed to imply that he wanted to use a different phone line provider that would allow him to get DSL.

    Do you have to pay line rental to get DSL? i.e. can you get Broadband just by having the line installed and paying, say, Esat for your DSL connection

    Yes, DSL requires a standard pstn telephone line, so you need to pay rental.
