anyone a member in Westwood Sandymount, anything good/bad/indifferent to say about it?

and any info on how busy it is in the mornings, would likely be heading there at morning opening rather than in the evenings...

    thanks

I'm a member of another Westwood, so can go to any of the 3 gyms with the same card.
I've been to Sandymount a few times...
First of all - great pool/ jacuzzi area. It's salt water and looks the biz.
The gym itself if quite small, although all the equipment is brand new. Good selection of cardio machines, although once or twice I've had to queue during busy times.
Weights section is adequate enough, and I think it is quite under-used so there should never be any problems queueing there.
I've always gone on weekedns or evenings so can't tell you what it's like in the mornings.
I would recommend it if you don't mind forking out the money for it (afaik it close to €900 a year). Have a look at it first though - you *may* find it a tad small if you've ever been to any other gyms.

I'm a member at Sandymount and think it's fab. Pool area is great with jacuzzi, sauna, steam rooms. The changing rooms are great too and the showers are decent, not the usual dribble of water that you usually get in public showers. They offer a wide range of classes too. All the equipment is new enough and it is never overly packed in the evenings so I'd say the mornings are quiet enough. It is a bit expensive at €70 a month and a €200 rgistration fee but if you are going to use it regularly then it is well worth the cash.

The salt water pool is the big selling point imo. It is overpriced but this is Ireland afterall.

I think this place is totally SH*T!! I was a member for three years and after one of the trainers telling me to take it easy (while I was pushing myself) on the treadmill I decided to finish up. When i tried to close my account they wanted to charge me for a full month, wanted it in writing and the lady was the most ignorant person I have ever had to deal with. The receptionists, looking quite good ill give you, are not interested in helping or assisting you in anyway and just seem to be there to enjoy themselves and chat to their friends.

All in all I found the place had great equipment but the staff had serious attitude problems.

Happy now in my 'new' gym. :)

    ....my 2 cents....

Your new gym is where Jo?
Most PT's are terrible and very few do much training themselves.
Good idea to have some attractive women on the front desk or as membership advisors - makes it more palatable when knows one is being screwed!

I assume you must be from the sandymount area, if so have you ever used the exhale yoga studio in sandymount village?
