Experienced and qualified network engineer with planning skills, up to 50K

Established with the three aims of providing a high quality, feature rich, and cost effective service for the Irish and European markets, hosting365.ie will be continuously developing and improving our services.

To support our continuing rapid growth, we require an experienced NETWORK ENGINEER with specific responsibility for Windows-based systems.


RESPONSIBLITIES
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

· Ensure that all Hosting365 services run optimally; continuously monitor performance against published SLAs
· Assume specific responsibility for Windows-based systems
· Assist in the management of the Hosting365 LAN
· Plan and implement future developments
· Maintain/upgrade current anti-virus, backup, and other hosting management software
· Support deployment of hardware, software, service, and maintenance of all information technology assets
· Act as an escalation point for the Helpdesk
· Maintain full security on all systems


SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE

· Deep knowledge of networking (DNS/WINS/DHCP and TCP/IP in mixed operating system environments)
· Excellent working knowledge of Windows-based server operating systems (Windows 2000/2003, Domains, and Active Directory; strong experience with IIS)
· Microsoft certification, ideally to MCSE standard
· Extensive knowledge of project-based hardware and software upgrade plans; ability to plan, write, communicate, and execute project and/or test plans
· Excellent understanding of firewall, anti-virus technology, and network security; experience with open-source firewalls important
· Disaster recovery planning/testing
· Hand-on experience of backup software desirable
· Experience managing Linux and other open-source operating systems desirable; scripting ability desirable

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

· Primary IT degree
· 5 years experience working in a similar role
· Applicants should possess technical qualifications such as MCSE (in Windows 2000/2003), CCNA, Network +, A+ or equivalent

Payment 35,000 - 50,000 DOE
