Drives gone crazy

    My two disk drives on my pc are gone crazy.

    They refuse to properly read discs, cd's skip from track to track and it cant read photos sometimes etc.

    Is this is hardware problem with the drives or is it a software driver fault.

    It is strange that it has happened both drives,

    CD-ROM/DVD ROM and CD/RW

    can anybody help me, i still have the same problem, also when i start up the computer i get a dos like screen showing hardware profiles of the drives in it and i have to do a network service boot to launch windows.

    Any ideas on how to fix the drives??
