Cant say I have played it on-line properly, only with a few m8s on LAN (well online but with just us on same server), but regardless it was officially on-line, and I had no problems with it.

This is great stuff, love the orks, definately got the right feel to them, some will say its like warcraft3 in space, but to me thats no bad thing. Theres so much more tho, all the individual squad upgrade options, the mind boggles at the possible variations of troop squads. I only have one tutorial game under my belt as the orks v eldar, I won but not without almost losing before I got the hang of it.

Love the bigger ork vehicles, the loota tank with guns hanging off it everywhere possible, much better than the land raider it used to be :)

there is definatly room for more units and much bigger, grander maps.
    titans anyone? :)

    squiggoths are just mean.
    Avatars build too fast
    blood thirsters die too easily
land raiders dont do it for me

in the long game eldar have an advantage, being able to move their buildings with the webgates, plus after orks they build the fastest and their units are devastating.

Chaos are the best in shortgame, you can stealth swarm with marines fairly quickly.

orks are just mad, they have the highest pop cap of all 90 or 100 i beleive, but their population is measured differently, marines/eldar/chaos are done by unit orks are done by each guy in a unit. so where it may seem you have more you have the same.

frag grenades dont stun as they should, they do however lower morale of units by splitting them apart so if your using marines follow up a frag grenade with a flamethrower weilding assault squad for garunteed breaking.

turrets suck, 6 heavy bolter and 6 missile turrets got taken out by 2 fire prisms.....

marine and chaos unit caps are too low and they build too slow to compete with eldar/ork in a long game. the only way to combat it is terminator/whirlwind combo
use the termies to protect the wurbles while you have scout squads infiltrate and then bombard with the wurbles. if it wasnt for my team mates all assault marine army i would have lost that game.

If you want space marines to kill some Orks for you, grab 4 heavy bolters and let them come to you, they will rarely even get into hand to hand with 4/8 heavy bolters, just make sure you have something for tanks too though. As for the defence turrets, Eldar have the best I think, their D-cannons make a good hole in anything, infantry included, and tanks just collapse to them, and their normal turrets rip though troops as fast as dual heavy bolter ones, except only take up 2 thirds the space.

As for the pop limits, I think the Orks have it the worst, a nob costs 2 population..... just 1 nob! for 100 pop you can get 50 nobs, whereas space marines can get themselves 200 space marines, the 200 space marines woudl rip thorugh the nobs like butter IMO, replace a squad or 2 with some assault Termies and anything will generally crumble before you really, not to mention marines can get 9 or so dreads, which are insane in close combat if you keep them with dual fists.

that'll only happen if the silly ork commander charges your static heavy bolters. i would teleport in my big mek and his attached reinforced squad of sluggaz (max'ed out with burners) behind the heavy bolters, and also stormtoopers can jump in behind them, and get into hand to hand with them, or at least make them move so they can't fire. then my sluggas would charge :)

i love the whole squad set up system. been wanting that in a good rts for ages...

also being able to customize your troops colour in true warhammer fashion is cool.

I would like it if there was a way to completely reskin your model tho instead of just colour skin, as some chapters cant be done with the current tools, Im sure they will release skinning tools with the full game though, so can get some Legion of the Damned on the go, and some proper Black Orks :) (really should be able to change ork skin colour in my opinion)
