Well ive travelled a lot and i have a lot more to do, i dont want to get bogged down working all the time. I just came back from being in Germany with my wife from July 24-Aug 5th. The first problem we ran into was that our hotel in Dusseldorf was nowhere near the tiny airport in Dusseldorf Neiderhein but couldnt expect anymore from the cheap flights from Ryanair! We managed to get a shuttle bus to the Hbf though. We travelled to Dusseldorf, Heidelberg, Munich, Frankfurt and Cologne. I must say that luckily my wife speaks a bit of German because 90% of Germans we talked to had no English. We managed to get around many of the cities without much difficulty, using the s-bahn and the u-bahn, so useful and cheap. We had euro domino tickets to travel from each city which we spent 2 days in some cities and 3 in others. I would gladly go again and spend longer, but probably would try the east side of Germany id imagine. One of the ICE trains to Munich, one of the crew annouced there was a "bomb explosion" on one of the lines and everyone started laughing, i had no idea what was going on, she later corrected herself as she had broken english and said there was a bomb threat and that everything was fine. Our flight was delayed an hour home.I think im going to take a few days off to go for a short trip somewhere in October and then to the US of A as usual for Christmas. I really feel like ive been living in airports, eating breakfast and dinner there, they must know my order by now in Dublin airport. all in all, it was an experience
