Can anyone recomend me some good free adware removal programs. I have spybot but that doesn't remove everything.

My retarded brother has my second mashine riddled with all sorts of crap and the machine has gone really slow. One of the main culprits is wtoolsa.exe which spybot doesn't remove.

    Thanks for any help.

"spybot search and destroy", "adaware" and "hijack this" are the 3 main ones.

I'm running Zone Alarm, Spybot, Adware, SpywareBlaster and AVG. Adware seems to catch a lot of stuff that Spybot doesn't. Adware also seems to be updated a lot more often too. Make sure you have the latest version of them all and have download all the updates including the Windows XP ones.

The 3 of them dont detect wintools.
Only way to remove Wintools is to remove it from the add/remove programs, and reboot. (yes as simple as that :) )

AVG Free Edition available at www.grisoft.com sorted me out when nothing else did.

That doeesn't always completely remove it. Anyway I can't open the add/remove programs. It just doesn't respond so there must be a virus blocking that as well.

I'm contemplating formating it but I only have windows xp on disk and the second system only has 256mb of ddr400 so i'd imagine it would struggle with xp and games. Well the only games it's used for are cs and wc3.

Does AVG not find it then?

No I formatted it anyway and put xp pro on instead of 2000 and it runs better than it ever did with 2000. Start up times are a lot quicker and it runs cs properly again.

also with spybot make sure you have latest version 1.3

i had 1.2 and it didn't update for ages and i was thinking they've stopped supporting the program but it turned out you needed 1.3 to download updates
