Swaped the wire around nothing did same on lnb. and then contacted Sky. The said it sound like my box was faulty( which I was begining think anyway). I bought my box of ebay and I've email them (I've bought goods from them in the past and have n't had any problems. But there is I big problem my card there for are reister in the UK so I can't get a Sky engineer out!!. Has anyone else had this problem or is there anything else I should do to get it working.

Did you try powering down and rebooting the box, heard of this problen since the new software update and something this simple fixed it on a few boxes.

Also there were two updates each a week apart.

The first one which left the operating system reading 1.31A08 and had quite a few bugs.

The second one a week later shows the operating system as 1.31A8 and fixed these bugs.

    Check which one you have.

It might be worth leaving the box unplugged overnight. Other people have had similar issues and giving the box a rest helped.

Having said that though when my first box went kaput giving it a rest did not help at all.

Hi got hold of the chap I bought the box from and he email a Sky plus factory reset(which worked!!) Here it is for others if they have this problem.

    To correct certain faults on new Sky plus boxes such as;

    Stuck in standby

    Unable to record

    Loss of IF Input 2

It is possible a 'factory reset' process may cure the problem

    1. Switch off the mains

    2. Hold in Left and Right navigation buttons,(on box) switch on the power and hold for about 30 seconds until green 'play' light comes on

    3. Press 'select'

    4. The 'play-light' will then rotate clockwise while the resetting procedure takes place. This may take up to 3 minutes. (this timing could vary if there are no programmmes stored in the hard drive.)

    5. It then reverts to 'standby'

    6. Leave the machine for 2 minutes while hard drive reformats.

Please note ; The machine will lose all stored programmes if this process is followed.
