Tribes 2 General Opinions etc. :: PLUS MY FIRST TOPIC EVER :)

Ok now let me start out by saying I know this is in the CS section and that is because Not half as many people look at the games section so I put it in here.
In my honest opinion from what i've seen in the clips screenshots etc that have been released AND from playing the first title "Tribes 1" for over a year and a half Tribes 2 will be THE best game of the year without a doubt. With Air transports and jet fighters and ground to air missiles and amphibious bikes and mobile bases need i go on this game has already out done all others in its class. The wide range of weapons armour classes and accesories ie:backpacks deployable turrets etc are just more of a help to the games sharp SPIRAL to the top. So now I ask what are the general opinions from Irish gamers on the matter? Will Irish players switch from the machine guns and camping of CS to the amazing outdoor landscapes and full scale battles of tribes. Giz your views.

I had a big long rant prepared about how good tribes 2 will be but its late, ive been typing all night for a fuppin presentation i have to do on tuesday and im very tired and....and, wait wasnt this about tribes 2? oh well.

I enjoyed Tribes 1 briefly and I'd say Tribes 2 will be excellent from the cideo/previews/other people's opinions. Shame it probably won't run properly on my AMD 450

Anyone else feel a need for a vapourware board? TF2, Duke4, Tribes2, C&C:Renegade, Halo, Serious Sam and many many more. We could go to these boards and say 'gee, i cant wait for this game' because frankly, I'm getting depressed saying it here

Howdy folks,

Long time no email. Sorry about that...as you may surmise, we've been
fairly busy here.

The game is really coming together well right now. The team has been
having a good time in our all-day Tuning Sessions on weekends, the
gamebalance is coming together nicely, the frame rate has improved (a
lot), we're now supporting D3D in addition to OpenGL (so there are
fewer compatibility issues), the forums are faster and better
architected...etc. In general, it's been a VERY productive couple of
months since we all pounded on the original beta together.

I would like to thank you all one more time for the pain and
suffering you may have endured with that original beta. I doubt that
you can comprehend how useful even the most abusive comments you made
were to us here on the Dev Team. We gathered more information through
that one month of beta testing than we would have with an additional
three months of internal QA testing and your gameplay suggestions and
comments were fantastic.

The "meta" testing is going to start very, very soon now. Those that
are involved in that testing have already been notified in a separate
mailing. If you didn't receive that e-mail, then I apologize.

The "meta" is going to be very short and focused on only a few
things, basically login and internationalization issues. We want to
make sure that those issues are rock solid before we release and
we're using this limited "meta" to ensure that those work.

Once those are nailed down...and we finish these last batches of bugs
here, we'll start issuing Gold Master Candidates so that we can
eventually go to press.

Yes...you heard me right. We're close. As in "not long". As
in "soon". As in "Really".

Even if you're not in the meta...you don't have long to wait.

Thanks all for your help. You truly helped to improve what is
absolutely the best game I've ever had the honor to work on, and
you're a big part of the reason why the game is going to be good.

My box should run tribes 2 fine.
heres the spec:128 megs RAM.800mhz proceesor.
vodoo 3 3000 3dfx card.20 gigs hard drive space.Full tower case.need i say more?thereofore i am REALLY lookin forward to tribes 2.oh yeah and let me know if i let anything out on my spec =].
