    Just thought of something...

what would happen if you rang Sky and told them that you were taking your digibox on holiday with you ... say to England or if you're in England, over to Ireland.

Would they have to change your channel line up... giving you whatever service was available locally?

Has anyone tried this..?? Its totally legit to move your box around, having moved from England to Wales, they changed the local variations for BBC/ITV... would the same happen for RTE/BBC if you took the box with you temporarily??

i think the subscription needs to be tied to a permanent address, ie. you would have to be moving there

But then aren't Sky advocating something that they say you cannot do contractually? i.e. they cannot contractually provide ITV/Channel 4 to Irish Viewers but those coming here on holiday can watch the channels and similarly with RTE, you can go away with your box in the back of the caravan and watch away on it in England?

Has anyone tried this with Sky??

If you phoned Sky and said I'm moving to Ireland, then, funnily enough you'd find yourself getting the Sky Ireland Service and Vice Versa. People who go on holiday, from one country to another for a few weeks, (caravan, Spain, etc) and bring their boxes obviously do not tell Sky.
