My brothers use Dax super neat.
It seems to work well on the mohawk one of them recently acquired 'cept it disintigrates if it gets rained on.

    American Crew Pomade

It's a water based wax, so the hair doesn't go rock solid and you can restyle it a few times by just adding water again to it. It's about 14 quid a tin but lasts for ages.

I use this stuff called ID hair, mud wax.

it's the bees knees - great, solves every problem I ever had with other products - washes out easily but the rain doesn't rinse it. You can do what you want with your hair, spiked etc, and even change the style later in the day if you feel the need. The Mrs mum is a hairstylist on films and such like and she told me about it - so its been used on some pretty big films as well by the likes of Pearse and all. If I could get the distribution rights for it...

Meanwhile its avail in this little hair products store on Drury street I think. Couldn't recommend it highly enough TBH.

on the more cost efficient shelf there is the new lynx wax which, unlike their armpit stinging deoderants, is fine.

    Toni & Guy Fiber Gum.

Not only does it kick some serious a$$, but it is so easy to use as well. It washes out very easy compared to a lot of the competition, a little bit more expensive than some of the other products mentioned but well worth tehhe money.

Fructis Fiber Gum jelly (ultra strong) followed by Fructis normal gel (ultra strong) in my opinion.

I've heard great things about Crew gel from people who use it as well.

Hmm... Well I never used to use the stuff before, as I used to have long hair, but now I've been using Brylcream to keep it nice and neat. It does the job pretty well, I find.

I use red dax wax. I apply to wet hair with dry hands. I take out a lil bit and rub it till it gets white-ish in my hands then apply from fringe back. After application, I wet my hair again. It's the best I've found but once I have put it in my hair, it's very hard to get off my hands, soap and water wont do, I need to use a towel to rub it off. If it rains the style will be lost somewhat, not too much but enough.

Has anyone tried that new (Fructis I think?) Hair glue? The one with the 3 guys and their in the cinema at the end?

For the posters above, please mention if the product you mentioned gives a slightly wet look or does it go dry and have no long term effects?

Indeed, although at times the tub looks a lot like wholesale Pritt Stik.

God bless those chemical engineers who create this stuff.

I use Fructis it doesn't look wet - it dries and goes hard which is exactly what I like cos I dont like to get helmet hair from my bike helmet. If you go to boots they sometimes have it on offer - buy one get one free. Also it's cheaper in Tesco if you are just getting one. It smells really fruity which i don't mind(cos i'm a girl) but i'm not sure if you guys would like it...

I'v used brylcream and fructis before but at the moment I use Shockwaves ultra strong gel. Its good for hair with a 3/4 on the sides and a messy bit on top

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 553 ✭✭✭phenom

What i use is Dax short and Neat and also Shock Waves strong.
I prefer Dax as it doesnt make your hair go hard.

I use red dax mostly. I like it because its not particulary greasy unlike other waxes. I find the best way is to wash your hair then towel dry, then apply, then towel dry again and it gives the kind of messy out of bed look and doesnt look greasy. If you want to get it off your hands you run hot water on your hands then towel. To wash it out you use a hairdryer first on your hair and then wash your hair with the dax shampoo(available in boots). Heat is the key with this. I have tried different products, loreal remix, mg mud, impact mud...but none are the same as red dax..any ideas?

Guys, anything by Tigi is great for funky hair. They do a great Bed Head range. You can buy it it Tony and Guy salons (Dame st, also that St. with FCUK on). Dunno where else. Paul Mitchell stuff is great as well.
