i've done it before, bu i can't remember how...

i want to convert a fat32 drive to ntfs,
i tried using the convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs method,
but it said that the OS was on the drive [it is] and could not do it.

can i convert it if i stick it in as a slave in another pc,
or will it not boot then?

Dunno about sticking it in as slave on another box but if you do a re-install you can convert the drive you're installing on to NTFS. Might be the safest method, if not the longest anyway :dunno:

    -convert primary partition to ntfs
-format remaining unallocated space to ntfs

If you've got anything that you can't afford to lose in the event of a problem make sure you back it up. I've seen Partition Magic mess up before.
