multiple domain names...one website

Trying to get a number of domain names to point to the same place and I'm running into problems.

I've already got a dot com and have since bought a .co.uk and want to point that to the .com site. The company I registered the .co.uk through claim that the only way to point the .co.uk site to the .com site is by using their 'website forwarding service' which of course costs extra (unless you want an Ad bar across the top of the page!).

I was sure that by just changing the DNS of the .co.uk I could point it to the .com. Is this not the case? If so then what are my choices aside from using this expensive website forwarding?

    Thanks.

you should be able to point them all to the same server. dont point www.crap.co.uk to www.crap.com, point it to whatever your pointing www.crap.com to. i cant see the problem here?
    what problems have you had?
it doesnt work when you try to direct it?

Some domain registrars are an absolute pain to deal with and always manage to do things the wrong way.

Your site is hosted (virtual host) on a server. Your current domain name points to that server in DNS. You need to get the DNS entries of your new hostname pointed to the same server and an extra alias set up for the virtual host. THen everything should start working seamlessly (after the usual DNS propagation delays).
