Is the Sky+ Card the same as a normal Sky card?

I've ordered Sky+ and got the viewing card today but it's the same as my other Sky card. Is this normal?

So when my Sky+ card arrives I will have 3 identical cards (normal card, card for ITV, Ch4 & 5 and Sky+ card). Must be careful not to mix them up!!

    Err no
your existing sky subscription card becomes your sky plus card.
you simply put it into your new sky plus box instead of the old digibox.
you do not get a new card for sky plus.
you will only get an extra card if you are taking out a mirror subscription for your old digibox, in which case you will get a new card for your old box.

So you put the New card into the old box and the old one into the Sky+ box?

They should have another card with the Sky+ logo on it. If only to look good!

The new card will be a duplicate of the existing one (though the number will differ). It won't really matter which box gets which card, but as the old card is already paired with old box, I'd say put the new card into Sky+ box.
