I ordered €1000 worth of gear off of Jes in the 16th. They've been waiting for the RAM to come in. Now the HSF is out of stock.

I emailed them on Thursday and told them to cancel the RAM and chose another CPU cooler. They still haven't got back to me despite 2 follow up emails.

I've tried ringing them and get what I think is someone telling me to email them.

Does anyone have any experience with contacting them other ways? Is there another number or email address? I'm getting pissed off with them. German efficiency my ass.

Damn - I was about to order €1200 worth of stuff from them but you've just given me a fright cause the Gfx card I was going to get is being ordered in....:(. Does anyone have any experience of their delivery charges when getting a full system and it says "Cannot calculate shipping price" - what the hell am I meant to lodge into their A/C? I've e-mailed them about the card and delivery hopefully I wont have the same bad experience Zakalwe had:dunno:.

Well I finally got a reply. "Hello your order leave our house". I've replied to find out of it's my original order or modified order. If it's the modified order then they owe me a refund for some memory and a frontplate. I also have a shipping number from GLS, but the address Jes tell me they shipped to is

    My house number, my street,
    Dublin 2
    Ireland.

My account details are very clearly filled in as followd

    My house number, my street,
    my suburb,
    Tallaght,
    Dublin 24
    Ireland.

I'm on hold to GLS now to see what they say.

    Fingers crossed

    yea!

they told the same address(type) too!

when I clearly wrote down! my address like you Zakalwe, Idiots! plus my place is so hard to find!

should be getting it tomorrow, If the driver finds me, i'll give him a big tip :D

When I payed them, I emailed them asking to write down my phone number on the parcel so the drive will find me easy, it is interesting if they did!

*edit, they didn't even write my house number! and I like in an apartment! that has a main access door-lock!

Today I got an email telling me they had sent the full order by substituting DDR533 RAM for DDR500 and sending me the 7000B ALCU because it has superceeded the 7000A ALCU I ordered.

In some respects that's great but I made the order change on Thursday. They shipped the next Monday. In the meantime I have paid for different RAM for the system from Elara who are getting me a special order in.

    ARGGHHHHH.

Oh well, I'll probably be selling 1GB of RAM on the boards soon as 2x512MB. Look out for it.

GLS claim my package is now in England. Hopefully I should have it by Friday.

I'm about to order from jes to and was wondering how does payment work.
Paypal or bank-transfer? is there a charge on the bank transfer, no pay-pal, and how long does it take before it's on their account.
Delivery seems pretty fast which is gooed, not that there's a mad rush for it all.

    Are these guys normally reliable?

I've been thinking of ordering from them for a while.

    Thanks

I used Paypal to transfer the money. As far as delivery being fast, my package left on Monday and is now listed as being in Ireland since 5:30pm today (Wednesday) but with a status of "Routing error". This is most likely because the idiots failed to address it properly.

    Theyre very reliable.

There should be no extra charge for the bank transfer as it's done within the E.U. If you use BOI then you afto go into your local bank and do it in person - not over the phone or on-line  it takes a few days for the payment to clear 4-5 days or so.

    blobert - Yes!

    Zakalwe, Ring them!

    OK here's another success story!

Ordered on Wednesday, emailed them, got a response that they shipped on Friday and gave me a tracking number(I asked for it)

On Tuesday, I rang/sent an email to GLS-Ireland, since the tracking number, didn't work on their website and neither on gls-germany.com! the guy on the phone checked it with old gls-germany's website = www.generalparcel.com worked! - use this with 12 digit numbers

later got a call from GLS-Ireland from another man(prolly response on email) - explained that the package is on the way and they would probably deliver it tomorrow, wednesday

got the parcel today,... erm it's over 12pm, ... yesterday!

the address and everything was indicated well and correctly!

happy with both GLS-Ireland and Jes-Computers!

Doing so first thing tomorrow. When I originally rang them they said they couldn't do a thing about the address until it arrived in Ireland.

Their hold music is gas. "One Europe, one future. Let's progress. Look to the future GLS. blah blah blah"

    Don't worry!

You address is prolly right just screwup at the tracking system!

If it's in England you should be getting it the next day

Well I got my package today. They managed to ge it of of the Dublin 2 van and over to me. A nice suprise from GLS who gave me an estimate of Friday for getting it to the right address.

The box was well packed against any possible abuse. There was no dents to the packaging and it looked to have been treated well during transit.

Everything was internaly individually wrapped again and buffered with bubble wrap. Nice!

All components work fine so far and I have to admit that I'm happy.

I'm happy to hear about that Zakalwe - I've just sent JES my bank order today and it was a horrid day:mad:. I walked into the bank drenched and ask to transfer cash over to Germany - I'm just handed this page to fill out of course I didn't have all the required details (silly me thinking that the IBAN and Swift Code would be enough). Cycle back home in the rain to find out JES's banks' ADDRESS (what the hell??!!) and JES's own address:confused:. So by the time everything is filled out I'm totally wet and really angry:mad:. I remember reading someone in another JES thread say they could use the phone with AIB - if that's so I'll open an account with them!

By the way people have any of you ordered a whole computer from JES and had the shipping calculator say it's unable to calculate the costs? That's what happened with me so I e-mailed and asked how do I figure out the shipping costs so that I can transfer the right amount....I got an e-mail back saying that I will be e-mailed as soon as I order telling me how much the delivery costs. So I ordered and I got no e-mail so I decided to e-mail JES asking for the costs and I get told to transfer the cost of the PC not including any delivery costs  This leaves me wondering when am I meant to pay these costs, on delivery? Has any one had this happen to them?

    MMM - quick reply ;)

Anyway, if I was you I'd check that BOI are suing the new european IBAN transfer system and not the old one which required the address of the branch. If they use the old one, it's going to cost you at least €20 and it might cost Jes money to receive it.

For the new system, all you need is the IBAN and BIC (=SWIFT code)

Thanks maxheadroom for getting me worried about BOI all over again , I'm practically certain the cashier said "no charges"
