    Hello

I have a six year old computer with a USB 1 port and I was wondering is it possible to hook up an external USB 2.0 hard drive and have it working ?

Yes every USB 2.0 is compatable with USB 1.1. Its gonna be really slow though.....:)

probably but it will be slow. For comparison, I have a CD reader hooked up by USB 1.1 and the fastet it can read is 4 X (700MB in 20 minutes == 35 MB per minute).

You should be able to buy a USB2 PCI card for 40 euro or so if you want to speed it up.
