Full Applications for "Alternative Rock Music Licence" and "Multi Cultural Format Licence" (both Dublin) available to view here.

Page also includes details of "Community Sound Broadcasting Services - Phase 2" (South Inisowen Peninsula) and "Community Sound Broadcasting Services - Phase 1" (West Dublin, Lucan, Dundalk Town, Roscommon Town, West Limerick, Tipperary South West).

It is anticipated that the first phase of consideration of the applications, by the Board of the BCI, will take place at their meeting on September 6th.

I went up the the BCI offices on tuesday to view them "in the flesh". I have to say some of them were impressive. The alt rock ones of phantom and xfm for me look to be the favourites. Although for the 2 applicants for the multi cultural license for dublin global fm seem to be the one to pick, due to the overall impressino from the application.

I would suggest that anyone with an interest in irish radio give them a read if you havn't already done so. They are pretty interesting. :)

You are being naive! :D Why would they be evil? We have two very active concert promoters in Ireland - MCD and Aikens - as a result we have one of the most active live music scenes in Europe.
