    Anyone tried this yet?

Its pretty difficult, stunning graphics and attention to detail.

I'm on the 1st mission, and to be honest I think I'll be there for a while, with another 29 to go after. Its just amazing what can happen, line of site firing is done really well, "physics" create fantastic situations with stuff blowing up all over the place. I blasted a tank onto its side, and left it thinking it was gone. Sure enough tho, one of my tanks passed in front of it, and it let go a couple of blasts from its cannon. Sideways. Hilarious.

Tried a few times to figure out how to blow a series of antitank guns lined up on a slight rise at the entrance to a village. Got the crap knocked out of me until I figured out that if you hi-ex the farmhouses behind them, the subsequent fire burns out the soldiers manning the gun. Cue a raging fire across the ridge, followed by me manning the guns post-fire for a bit of village "rezoning"....

Excellent so far really :D, but bloody difficult too.

According to the boycottstarforce site, it uses starforce 3 with malware drivers... I can't find any trace of them though, and yes, I've turned on the hidden drivers switch.

Still, so far so good, no problems and you can always clean it off with sfclean.exe or something post-uninstall.

    <edited to correct starforce statement>

Yeah i got the game about 2 weeks ago. Its the only game i have been playing till my PSU blow up. Its a real nice game i think i have about 40% of the missions completted. What me and my bro do is play it on lan just pick a mission and have great fun on it. The first time i played it on lan i was at my friends house playing a 4player game of it "four is the most you can play over lan". Well it was mad fun we stoped playing at 3:30am.

Im only playing the game on medium so maybe that is why im flying along with the missions. When driving the tanks hold down the Ctrl key and use the arrows to stear. Maybe you do this all ready but i find it right handy for driving the tanks. U can use it also when running your men around also.

Over all the game is good. My brother is very picky on games and he loves it i think i'd give it 8.5 to 9 out of 10.

did you find any evidence of starforce on your machine?

I wonder if codemasters pulled it for the european version

Nope i have not nor have i had any problems with my machine.

But i belive there is a tool which will get rid of the program if it finds it. There is a link in the games section just look for the tread "Codemaster's Starforce removal tool ".

If i where you i would try another campaign and c how you get on. Do maybe the german campaign let me know how you get on.

My brother is starting to play more and more of this game. He plays it on hard and does not use the map during game play also only saves game at start of the map, now that is hard going but he likes it to be more realistic.

Well I cracked the first mission :)

Its an awesome strategy game, will keep me going for months at this rate!

Favourite part so far: watching the soldiers light up a cigarette, as tanks are raining fire down near them.

The destructible scenery really adds to the strategy of the game. I was using fire-manouvre tactics getting squads of soldiers up a road. Suddenly a tank opened up on one of the walls my troops were taking cover behind and blew them into little bitty giblets. Beautiful.
And with no cover left further up the road all my troops
got decimated by one guy with a machine gun.

Great game, lovely strategy, MUCH better and deeper than C&C (which is arcadey kind of strategy anyway)

    Absolutely awesome :D

Anybody have a price on this game? Might be buying it soon.

Best price. I have a "game" loyalty card if it helps.

I got this game for 45euro which is i think abit to high. Then a week later i went into PC World in waterford and they had 3 new games released for 35euro each. Soldiers Heroes of ww2 was one of them i was kind of kicking my self after seening that. So if your near a PC World i would pop in and take a look you just might be lucky.

What else i love doing in the game is just blowing buildings apart and driving into them and watching them fall apart "this wont happen to all buildings but more so the week ones".

Going to play the game tonight when i get the time. Also brother wont been hogging the game as he will be out. Just hope i dont have to go out with the GF :)

If you have a credit card Fluffer, buy it on-line, if you looked you could probably get it for under 30 yoyo's anyway, possably as low as 25, amasing just how cheap you can get games on-line, just takes a wee bit of looking, Gameplay is the one I would advise most though, always gave me excellent service in the past.

I am an impulse buyer. If i decide to buy something i need it NOW. Unless it is costing me loads more. A tenner difference wont make me.

If your an Impulse buyer why are you bothering to ask here? go out and buy it :) And Gameplay have next day delivery anyway, free P&P too, if you ordered it yesturday when I posted it would have arrived prolly dinner time this evening, or possably tomorrow morning. And I doubt you iwll be running off to game before then :)

I have finaly come to the end of the game just 2 maps left on the uk missions and all the rest have been compleated. Should clear them 2 missions tonight then i be on something new tomorrow.

Over all the game is very good. But after a long time of playing this game i will be happy to c it compleated.

I think ill give the game a 87% mark. There could be some good mods for this game in the future.

Just got my hands on this game, and damn its hard! just finished the first russian mission on normal, 2 men a tank and an APC against 4 or 5 tanks, 30+ infantry, and several APC's........ jebus, uh, teams? Only way I could do it was pick of the artillary with my infantry, using the big cannon thing one of them has, just hit and run until you get all 3 down, then roll in the tank to kill the trench units (and then run away from the other 2 pieces of artillary), then use their artillary to blow up half the town, and a substantial chunk of their army, then run the troops up to capture the other 2 piece's of artillary, use the one on the far elft to blow up another chunk of their army, after that they get major tank reinforcements (2 or 3 tanks), look around for the tank buster bombs (their like a steilhand, only with 2 heads on them), their invaluable for disposing of the tanks, as 1 T34 will find it hard to fight them by himself. After all the tanks have been delt with, its just a mop up job........... now off to try mission 2, cyas in 4 or 5 hours :D

HaHa yeah its hard all right. But the great thing is that you can do each mission differintly.

My brother took about 2 weeks of playing to finish the german missions. Then again he played them missions on hard and made it even harder when he did not use the map nor would he alow him self to save during mission. I think at the very end he did alow him self to save "just got to hard for him".

Done first 3 missions for russians now, aint started the other campaigns yet. As for doing it without saves... impossable, would get hidiously frustrating when a Panzer lands a perfect hit on your poor T34 right near the end of the mission :)
