There are loads of computer shops in NYC that do components etc. Be very very carefull about buying other electronics. There are shops all over the city that are packed with iPods/MD/Cameras etc. that will basicly try screw you. (eg you buy a camera but they stip the memmory and battery out of the box then try charge extra for them)

Are you looking for anything in particular?

Also when brining stuff back if customs stop you they will charge you import duty on any thing you have. Best thing to do is strip everything out of their boxes and leave them behind.

CompUSA are everywhere in the US - generally quite good.

Be careful when shopping in electronics shops in downtown Manhattan (city center). These are the types that have very good deals in the windows, but when you go in to purchase them, they are all sold out and they will try to sell you something else. These shops tend to be run by very shady characters and can be very intimidating when you walk in. Personally, I would recommend you stay as far away from them as possible.
