    regarding point 4.

Don't grab the flag that's in your base on the little pedestal, it's most likely mined !

Aye, we had more than a few muppets on last night. A few more hints....

Spending the entire game as a heavy whining about needing a target while everyone else is going mad trying to defend your flag, is _not_ a good thing.

Do not go anywhere near your own flag unless you absolutely, positively have to. That goes for you too Dr. Teeth.... I got no explanation for your sudden desperate attempts to reach our own flag the last night, but I'd swear you had got the bases confused and were trying to cap it.... Muppet! tongue.gif

Set waypoints for yourself. This is particularly important on big maps that mirror themselves. If you're defending, set a waypoint on your own base, if attacking, set it on the enemy base. Whoever is heading up the defence squad should keep an eye on the other players through the command screen and set attack/defence/escort commands for them - but only with caution, and only when absolutely necessary. It drives people nuts when you interrupt them in the middle of something to go and do something else...

Finally, play more C&H. It's good for the soul. You go blind from grabbing the flag too much, you know...

    Mata ne!

yes, I too fell victim to the muppetry of X3MAX and Matt. There I was setting up a nice loada turrets around Scarabrae, when in walks this lad, goes up to the Inv.station, buys a heavy and a mortar and starts to destroy each and every one of my turrets, then he starts on me, kills me, then blows himself up on purpose, i mean christ. He was doing it deliberatly, the fact he didnt bother attacking me until he had the mortar and kept on doing it even with ppl screaming at him proves that. I have heard of a mod that kicks you after a certain number of tk's within a fixed period of time, ie: u are going to get kicked if you tk 4-5 times within a minute. Put this up now or get some admins, cos these guys arent going to go away.

    Why don't you get Capt'n Kangeroo's anti-TK patch.

Basically bans you from the server if your acting the muppet. It's the difference between an accident and plain old TK'ers. Also teaches people to play a bit better or your out smile.gif

Sheesh !! last night they bloody invaded.. TK'ers etc..

I spend ages trying to put up a defence and along comes a shagger and wipes out half a dozen turrets runs across my 20+ mines, shoots me in the *****then blocks the fuking way when I'm trying to get back to the flag....

    ARRRRRRAGH !!!!

kicking is too good for em...

If your new to the game get the hell out of the base / flag area run around outside and try to slow up attackers ( don't **** off across the map for 5 mins only to get killed and do it again)

    Tips for Newbies..

    1. A mortor is a big gun so outdoor use is recommended...

    2. Mines are very rarely on their own, so if you walk into one.. STOP and have a look around.

    3. A lazer rifle is not a machine gun, let it charge up.

    4. If you see a flag (any flag) grab it !!

    5. Heavies attacking your base have a priority to that annoying tagger in the hills.

    6. PROTECT your flag carrier, don't frag the guy.

    7. At all times feel free to shoot a certain Teeth person.. (TK rools relaxed here wink.gif )

    8. Pleeze set your favorites, or better still set up your own INV station somewhere else.

    9. Press O and see what general idea of the game is !....

nuf typin .. got a urge..

    Good post, YuM smile.gif

I managed to get in a tiny bit of tribing yesterday morning on the barry's C&H maps - they definitely are more forgiving on the jump in and out of games type playing as on the CTF maps I always feel a bit guilty if I have to leave & my team are doing well...

There are some very cool maps - on tunnelrats (i think it's called) i love getting in a heavy with an inv station - skiing over to the objective in double time and holing up in the objective room - set up the inv stat, grab a shield pack, mosey over to a ledge across from the only entrance point and the little enemies come on in - peeking around the corner as if asking 'is it okay to come in?' sure - i respond - and hand them their pass in the form of a SMOKIN' green ticket smile.gif Not only is that the only entrance point but it is in the form of a tube so 90% of the time the puir enemy would see me and think 'sh*t, a heavy' and would scurry back in for cover only to look balefully at the mortar i sent in after them.

MORTAR + ENEMY + ENCLOSED SPACE = DEATH

and also equals me rotfl-ing smile.gif

Tip to my buddies out there - if you do play that tunnel map & they have a heavy guarding that entrance - get _inside_ the room as quickly as poss. Obvious, i know, but so many of them would take cover in that death tube. The only time i was seriously challenged, was when the enemy got inside to wreak havoc... still survived usually.

on another point - that guy, X3MAX sounds suspiciously like a tk-er we had called Xcom ...

anyway, effing monday again! see you guys tonite - da gurlfriend is off back to london so I'm a free man smile.gif
