    Nope - good site though.

I love the way you click on the English flag, and then it says "translating..." - it comes up with

"guitar24.de...... the dispatch for mark instruments! We dispatch daily European-wide!
    FORWARDING EXPENSES-freely within Germany "

LOL - you gotta love that...:D

But do let us know if they "dispatch you a mark instrument".
Personally i'd be a bit apprehensive about buying geetarz online!

I'm sorry i couldnt resist posting this too:

    "Customer voices 1:1

Michael bad one - so 11.07.2004
    Hello Uwe,

the Gibson arrived Thursday and the Electric Sitar Friday with me.

The Gibson exceeded my expectations still by far, is the absolute Topteil. I play 6 Flextone II and the guitar over a LINE bring all sounds more rueber. And all this at a superprice!

Friday came then to my surprise the Sitar. Prima, which folded it still my vacation ago. Who has already such a Exot in its collection? For a eingefleischten Steve Howe - fan however must.

Last summer has I with you the Burns Brian May Signature ordered and all super there at that time already folded, was clear that I mean guitars with you will only buy. Good prices and short delivery times, which one wants more! One can further-recommend your shop without doubts.

    Yours sincerely

    Michael bad one"

    :D:D:D

    Ok i'm done!

Is that at the German rate of VAT?

    i'd imagine so.

if you buy a product within the E.U you pay the countries rate of VAT

If a company in the EU does more than a certain value of trade with Ireland, or another specific EU country it is obliged to charge that country's (Irish) vat rate and to pay that vat to our exchequer (sp?). Thomann.de do it all the time, musicstore do it some of the time, I don't know about these guys. You'd want to email them. They respond very quickly (I asked about delivery rates, they're on the site but not so easy to find with the "translation" :) They use DHL btw.).

You pay VAT at 21% no matter where in the EU you're buying from. Chances are they're displaying 16%, so you better work out the difference to make sure it's really a bargain. Thomann calculate that for you if you're in the Irish section, Musicstore and most other places don't afaik.

edit: Yeah, what he said. :)

well on music store koln site the same guitar is listed at 1599.00 euros

    i'll email these guys now.

I order stuff quite often from Germany and i always have to pay 21%, unfortunately.

Before you order, ask Doc J about import taxes, customs crap etc., he ordered a bass online a
    couple of months ago.

got a reply back from them

they charge 16% vat (german vat) and they said i shouldn't be charged more

and delivery to ireland is 30 euros.

not bad and if it's dhl they're good for delivery

Well, they're wrong afaik. You can check it out on http://www.revenue.ie if you're really interested. I know Musicstore were doing this for a while because they weren't declaring the imports to Irish Customs (or something to that effect). It's a touch dodgy, but on their part rather than yours, so go for it while it's still on.
