Im not playing too long but would be interested in playing in a cover band if it was easy money along with doing my own stuff, Pubs i visit have bands playing sometimes and they are never great.

Does anyone do this? is it hard to get the name out?

A cover band/pub band can earn a good bit if they find the right venue in the back arse of no-where. Just don't expect to be known by anyone besides the guy who books you.

I play around the pubs of Wicklow Town. Its good fun and the money is nice. A wedding band is not fun. We get away with murder with our set list in pubs (tacky and sometimes credible rock, blues and eh 80's cheese) but if we went for the weddings the moneywould drastically increase but so would the pain.

The set list would become an Ireland On Sunday cover CD.
