Ordered from the uk branch of crucial. How long does delivery usually take?
Also should memory they select work with my Dell pc?
This is what i ordered, i already have 2x256 mb cl=3 RAM installed, with another 2 unused slots

    Description:2x256MB, 184-pin DIMM cl=3 Upgrade for a Dell Dimension 8300 Series System

Should i have any problems getting this working?
    Thanks

don't worry, should work fine assuming you put in your system type correctly : They know what they are doing.
Should only take 2 or 3 days.

I've never bought from Crucial myself but anyone I know of who has was fine. I'd trust them implicitly.

The specific type of memory Crucial send you for the PC will be matched against that system (assuming you used their selection system properly) and will more than likely have been tested against the motherboard model. I think they have a replacement policy in case of mis-matches by their system.

    For comparison purposes
I've also dealt with www.shop4memory.com who were excellent to deal with. Their site does lack all the fancy system matching features.

I bought memory for my IBM thinkpad from them. excellent system where they walk you through and as long as you select your machine, everything will be great.

Memory arrived safe and sound and well packed

Hmmmmm seems crucial have the better prices for what i want.
48 euro per 256mb on crucial.
    63 mb per 256 mb on shop4memory.

Incidentally, is there any advantage of having 2x512mb as opposed to 4x256 mb ?
