Since last night i have been unable to use cut and paste on a web page.
If i click the mouse and drag accross anything it will not highlight it.
This seems to only happen inside web pages.
I can highlight text in word etc no problem. I can even highlight the url and copy it.

Actually I cant even highlight the text in this box i am typing in.

It does highlight if i do Ctrl-A

I've restored to a point 2 weeks before this happened and its still the same.

I've scanned for viruses. I've googled.
I have no idea what the problem is but its really annoying.

    Can anyone help??

Is it possible that that the mouse is highlighting in the same colour as the background?
If you have trouble getting it sorted give mozilla firefox a try. You can import your IE bookmarks to it.

You using winXP with IE6? I had that problem once before, but it was when I had upgraded the browser in my old win 98 SE machine. I just re-verted back to the old version and upgraded again...problem sorted.

Have u upgraded your browser lately? If not, just try it, or alternately, like Raz said try Firefox..quite a nifty browser with Ad-blockers and the likes.

    Just did some experimenting.
Its not highliting in the same colour.
Its not even highlighting in OE6 mails.

I tried Opera but it wont work their either.
I'll try firefox but i dont hold out much hope.

The mouse is OK. Just tried a different one and the same.
I can click and drag in word etc no bother.
This is getting annoying. I hate when i get a problem i cant solve on the PC.
If i press shift and highlight with the cursor keys its fine.

If i click somewhere with the mouse then press shift and click lower on the page it highlights the text in between fine.

    Seems very unusual alright.
Only thing I can think of to try is to go into internet options of your browser and go to the programs tab.
There's a button to reset web settings. I don't know if that will have any effect other than changing your homepage and stuff like that.
Other than that I'd suggest asking in the windows forum. :dunno:

    I solved it.
    I am sooo stupid.
    I rolled back the computer.
I uninstalled all sorts of software.
I rest all sorts of settings and cant remember them.

    But the problem was this.
I use a Wireless keyboard. The battery goes sometimes so i leave the other keyboard under the desk still plgged in.
I knocked the spare keyboard over and it must have been lying on a key.
When i picked it up problem solved.

    Now i'm REALLY pissed off.
