I'm 16, about 56kgs, 5'4 and i wanna lose weight and get a toned body. i was wondering if anyone had any good tips, or diets plans i could use that aren't hella drastic, but won't make me a total heffer. also, i just signed up to the gym and i don't really know about classes and different workouts that would work for me. if anyone knows any good equipments, exercises, or special classes that can help with weight loss that would be really helpful.

also i'm just new to all the bulletin board stuff, so i hope i'm doing the right thing. :dunno:

You don't need to lose any weight. Just eat healthily and maintain your weight. Going to the gym will tone you up. In terms of specifics, what do you enjoy doing to work out? Check out all the classes your gym has to offer, you'll probably find some suit you more than others. Also, have you thought about taking up a martial art?

Dieting and exercise will only work for so long. You should try to change your lifestyle altogether.

Maybe have a more healthy semi-vegetarian diet?

I also find when I cut out junk food and sugar, after about a month the idea of eating either is horrific.

I think a lot of people join the gym and go on a diet, and then one month later they give up. So I think subtle lifestyle changes would be better in the long run.

    Just my 2c.

Have you thought about joining a curves class. A girl working with me goes twice a week and she has notice an improvement in her body without losing weight. She is about the same build as you. Also you should try eating more white meat like turkey, chicken and fish and drink plenty of water and lots of walking and you'll be fine
